On the way home today, my buddy wanted to race his newly acquired Eclipse GS-T spyder against my ride. Let me assure he, he knows how to drive stick really well. I was like..."Sureeeeeeeeeeee, why not " The only mods that he & I know of are a short-shifter and an upgraded mid-pipe section (or so it looks like). We did probably 7 runs or so just for the hell of it. We took a few from a dig, however I didn't feel like launching hard either time. On all the dig races, I walked him hard all the way from 0-75. By the time I killed it, I was ATLEAST 4-5 lengths ahead of him. I really wasn't paying too much attention; all I know is that he was wayyy back, heh. Then we did another run from a dig where I let him get about a 1-2 second head start. He pulled an easy 2-3 lengths on me, and by the time I hit mid/top of 2nd, I was alongside him. By the time I shifted into 3rd, I was already a length ahead of him, and kept pulling hard, but we both killed it. It was funny because he didn't know that I gave him a head start, and by the end of the run, he was like "That's more like it.." So I smiled and said, "Let's go again.." What happened? Same result as my first few runs: tore him a new one. By the time we were done, he looked over and was like "How many ponies are under there?" I then told him "Around 300 crank, give or take some..." His eyes lit up and was like, "Well no shit you kicked my ass!!"

The only info I could find on them is that they have 210hp/214lb.ft and run teh 1/4 in 14.9@91.5mph'ish. I'm sure that the fact his is the spyder and his top was down hurt a bit as well.

So that's my story. Fun times racing the homies.
