Me vs. CL-S
Me vs. CL-S
Ran into a younger guy in an SSM '01 CLS during lunch today. He was a few cars behind me at the light and I could tell he was looking to get close to me. I drove kinda slowly until he caught up and we caught a light together. We talked a little and he asked what I had done to the car. I told him 'Comptech blower' and he didn't really acknowledge it. He said he had a intake and revved his car. I knew that AEM sound immediately. Man I miss that growl. Anyway, light turns and, as expected, I put about 5 cars on him before the next light. He came up to me and said 'why is that thing so much faster than mine??' Duh!!!! I told him again, I have a supercharger. I guess 'blower' had confused him. Anyway, we got on the highway together and he tried to keep up on the on-ramp. Of course, no chance. He looked a little disappointed but damn, I never had a car like that at his age so he should feel lucky.

He probaly just thought you were messing with him when you told him you had a comptech blower. Just like most of the kids that say they have turbo on there civic, yet when all they have is intake, header, and exhaust.

Mine and Steve's side by side on the highway sound like two completely different cars. I love the look of the '03 exhaust... and even to this day I sorta hate the resonance from my headers so there's no way I'd go with the b-pipe or a new cat back. 10-15whp with the S/C not worth the tradeoff IMO. Although my timeslips would probably argue otherwise.
