Unless you are installing a supercharger you don't have a chance from a stop. He should beat you by 3 to 4 cars to 80. Run him on the highway from 80 to120 you might win.

you could avoid a slaughter if you had descent tires...let the air out to 25 psi and launch as hard as you can if he can launch you still lose if he cant it could be close ...the low number releys on there ability to get out of the hole quick

Thanks for the input guys....i'll be sure to bring the vaseline, but hopefully i wont get spanked too bad. I'll also try to video tape it so for future reference, everyone will know how they fare against Ford Lightenings. I mean it comes w/380hp, how can we compete with that? Good thing its just for fun

My father-inlaw has one and that baby is so quick you are gonna lose and bad! Stock people have gotten low low 13s and with the diablo chip, air filter, smaller pully, and upgraded exhuast even more worst. Also don't think a roll is gonna help you either I tried that he won't spank you as bad but he still should pull you Your best bet is Force induction!!!!! If there is anyone in the DC area that wants to try one let me know I could make it happen I lost with pride and he went home with 1 win under his belt

i raced my friends brand new lightning, he shit on me, even though i missed 3rd gear i still didn't have a chance...0-85 he was already a good 3 in front of me. Also traction does help a lil bit, might get you half a car length. RWD helps, FWD doesn't

I actually found out that its the new Harley Davidson edition, that apparently comes with a supercharger....I was told that I should be able to handle that. I never thought that these damn trucks could be made so fast.....damn V8's...but we'll see how i do against the Harley edition

the harley edition is a bit slower, but the only way i see you winning is if you do it from a standstill and he has a bad launch.
let us know how it turns out

only thing with the harley davidson, you don't always know what your getting. With the current one, and knowing the truck, obviously it's the SC version, however there are non SC ones out there from earlier years. THose would be no sig problem.

Heh heh

Yer better off from a roll, like a 90mph roll, I can pull Lightnings from a roll only, from the line, they kill me everytime, but the 5.4 doesn't rev that high, so you may have a chance then...

There are quite a few Ls in my club and man, do they fly! The 'slow' ones run mid 13s, lol. I saw a 99 back in 99 with the dealer sticker in the window go 13.6s all night long...

Beasts. New S/C HDs go 14.6s - 14.9s with an ok driver...340 hp, more weight (extended cab and other goodies) and big ass 20s kill the performance....

that's what ive been told, but he also said he was doing some mods and should have over 500hp under the hood by this weekend. I just thought it would be a friendly race, but now he's talking he only wants to race for money....I hate it when people do that, so I told him I had someone for him and of course he's hesitating now....oh well, looks like this may not happen after all

Um, if the Lightning is pushing 500 horsepower, it won't matter where you race him from.

ok on saturday me and my friend put a shift kit and ram air in his 02 lightning....he gained 3-4 lbs of boost and now spins 2nd gear. He's running 13psi out of a ram air intake i was like i hate you. he took me for a ride and it would eat us without flooring it
