MD/DC Owners...Capital Raceway Friday Night??

Anybody around here wanna hit up Capital Raceway Friday Night or Sunday afternoon? I've never been to the track and i'm getting the itch to get there! Friday I'll be bone stock.. Sunday I will have an Icebox on. Hmmmm... maybe I'll go both days and do a before and after. Watch my times improve .05 seconds.

Two co-workers of mine go there all the time, they have a blast. One had a 2003 Zo6 Vette and the other has a 2003 Mustang cobra. (Notice I said "had") The Zo6 guy just bent his driver's rear quarter panel around a telephone pole the other nite- he's OK. He said that he was just getting into 2nd gear at 50 mph when the car broke loose and started spinning. The car spun off of the road, through a large parking lot and clipped the pole. The passenger said that he saw the pole pass the windshield three times before they hit.

I'd love to go, but they won't let me run without a blow-down tube!

I'm gonna try and hit 75-80 Raceway on Sunday (if they're still open).

Instead of a 1/4 mile, how about a track day at Summit Point?

That would be awesome as well... how do we go about setting that up. I'm sure it costs a good chunk of $$$

Summit Point

I know car clubs... BMW, Ferrari, Porsche go there all the time. It would be awesome to get like 15-20 CLs and TLs to meet somehwere near DC/Baltimore and make the road trip over there, about 70 miles give or take, and then have a track day!! I'll see if I can find any details.

Check the Summit Point web site for FATT -- "Friday at the Track".

Also, I believe the local chapter of NASA has periodic days for novii at Summit and other tracks. This would require joinng NASA, but not too expensive.

You might need a competition liscence to drive on the track.

EDIT: Never mind, that FATT thing sounds like what I'm looking for.

Although, I don't know if the stock CL-S brakes are up to the challenge of a 2 mile, 10-turn race track.

After a FATT, you'll be needing at least a set of front pads.
