May be a serious problem fluid dripping need help

Ok I installed an aem cold air intake a little while back and drove it for the first time in the rain yesterday. Yesterday at the movies I saw some raspberry color fluid and thought just it was water that dropped on some candy. Well I noticed it again today, opened up my hood and looked all over. I didnt see anything leaking. However I went down to my splash guard stuck my finger thru the hole to the filter and there is that raspberry color fluid on the filter itself and leaking onto the splash guard then onto the ground. I have no clue what the fluid is from, how to stop it, and now Im guessing I have to clean the intake filter, so where do I get a cleaning kit. I cant take it to acura cuz they will blame it on the CAI. Here are some pics of the fluid on my hand

Please help me out.

calm down. you can stop taking pictures of that shit on your hands. the fluid is off your filter. your filter got wet and the oil is simply coming off the filter. (lack of better explaination) just go to any local automotive store and ask for a k&n cleaning kit.

damn. paranoid.

if its coming from your air filter, like probably cone type I assume... if you have the K&N filter, it might be that red fluid -- the oil they put in the filter itself, however I don't know -- now I don't think you want to spray your air filter with the engine running for obvious reasons, but suppose it did get wet... if anyone knows... would this be a possiblity?

its not a big deal. maybe jsut take out the filter and remove some excess oil. let it dry and thats it, really.

not really a problem if it gets wet. but if it does, it just drips the oil out of the filter. it sucks, but theres nothing you can really do about it. just as long as its water and not dirt, and mudd and shit like that.

You probably over lubed the filter...and you probably want to invest in a by pass valve for it.

screw the bypass everyone on this board says to fuck up something u gotta be in like a puddle a foot high, thats not gonna happen most likely. Ill just take a look at the filter and make sure it looks fine, the oil should stop dripping soon enough, and then i shouldnt have any other problems with it hopefully. I was told to clean the k and n every 12k miles.

oil is there for better filtration and helps with filter life. not extremely necessary to have oil on there. its good to have it lubed but aslong as its oiled up alitlle. cleaning it depends on your driving conditions.

oiling the air filter increases the filter's ability to catch particals in the air flowing through it. Makes it somewhat easier to clean also IMO. You don't have to oil your filter, but it's usually a good idea to prevent engine oil contamination.

edit: oops. looks like someone beat me to it .

Thats the way it is. Buy a K&N recharger kit and the oil supplied is reddish too.

If it were clear you wouldn't be able to tell if the filter had oil on it. It's just dyed red so you can see it on the filter element. That's why K&Ns have that red color. The filter itself is white.
