maxima time

hey guys, this one was pretty interesting. i was coming back from lunch with my friend and in front of me is this new maxima se all decked out. so i drove by him and gave a litte revv in second. to my surprise, instead of turning like he was doing earlier he got back into my lane and started trailing. we come to a stop light and i think he's going be all pissed off for some reason, but he was really nice and asked me what i had in my car ( AEM CAI ) and he said he wanted to race since he had never raced the S before. so i agreed and this is a three lane within the city road in plano/richardson (TX). so we go at it, and we're at about 95 or so and then we slowed down. he kept pretty good pace, really even i think until about 70...we went once again before i got to my place, i thought he was just going to follow me home, haha. but that's basically the end of my story, sorry it's so long. later

I gotta tell you, the stick Maximas are fast!! I raced one with my headers and I was able to walk away slowly. I shifted at 7200 on 2nd and 3rd gear and was quite a bit ahead at the end. I think he was surprised b/c he was really egging me on to race. I murdered an automatic one morning really bad. Can you imagine how fast the CLS would be with a manual? Holy cow. I really think low 5's especially with a few mods.

Hi guys, I am a Maxima driver I must admit that I appreciate the respect you guys have for Maxima's SE. I actually drive a 2001 SE 20th Anniversary Edition 5 Speed with 227 HP (Canadian Edition-lighter than US Maxima) and will race pretty soon a good friend of mine and his 3.2 CL-S, both cars stock.
I'll let you guys know.
Take care...
