140's my top on my winter setup, and i may never try that again considering how the car feels...intake, headers, CT springs and stock shox, sways, Pilot Sport A/S's mounted on stock rims were the mods at the time
car felt like it was lifting off the ground from about 135 and up...but at 120, car felt solid as a rock
time and location: Dec '02 on I95 in Connecticut

145 a couple of times in an '03 CL-P. It seemed to take a while at first but v-tec in 4th gear is kinda scary when the car starts pulling again
. Sorta like it wants to keep going and going. I could only imagine what the difference is in a type S.
ANY TYPE-S OWNERS WANT TO VOLUNTEER YOUR CAR FOR ME TO DO A HIGH SPEED TEST

There’s too much that can go wrong at 100+ speeds and they all end up with the driver becoming a customer of Smitty's.

But if you have a blowout or hit an obstruction in the road at 140MPH yer pretty much a GONNER !!!

since there hasn't been any formal crash test results from any governmental/independent agencies, it's anyone's guess how realistically safe our cars r
That being said, I've hit 135mph or so with a Passat W8 in chase. We went back and forth for a good 15 to 20 miles on 95s near Ft. Pierce. I can say the car feels stable at 115-120mph, but after that it seems a bit too squirrelly for my tastes...

I know what you’re saying. Even a rollover crash at 60-70 can easily be fatal.

What's that disclaimer on the car commercials ?? "professional driver on closed track... please don't try this at home..." or something like that.

Yeah, but with a full cage and some 5 point harnesses under "closed track conditions" I might not be such a wimp

If I was going 140 and a cop had me on radar and he was stopped...I would just keep going. It would take forever for him to even catch you. Not many cops are gonna get their crusiers up that fast. In the 7-8 seconds it would take him to get to 60mph...you would already be 1/2 mile ahead of him. Just hope there is an exit somewhere up their close so you could jump off.

) and no lights followed.2nd time was on Rte 231 heading north from montauk hwy. I flew past him at probably 130 or so and he didnt even flinch.
Thats tru, but if you dont get a plate number theres nothing to radio... It was night time no shot of getting a good look at the plate from the side of the road. I'm not saying I hung around and stayed on the same road, I took off and took the backroads. Made sure I stayed away from the area for a few days.
