Okay you remove the spare, the jack, some of the trunk carpeting, the rear seat backs and bench, and you get a carbon fiber hood. You get some lightweight racing wheels (SSR Comps or Volk TE/LE-37s).

How much weight have you just saved? What else could you do to save a decent amount of weight without completely stripping the car down to the frame?

Well the engine weighs about 400pounds I would say, that should drop major weight.

I only weigh like 145, so that won't help.

You can lose 20-30pounds by changing the battery to a batcap 800. Im thinking of purchasing this battery.

If you have a sub box, that goes, use a 1/4 tank of gas, get rid of the washer fluid, chuck the spolier, all the carpet including the trunk lid.... That's all I can think of.

How about replacing the rear window with lexan or some type of light weight transparent plastic.

You could remove the ABS hardware, run a smaller but more efficient radiator, remove the condensor for the A/C, remove a lot of the reinforcement beams from the side doors.

Definitely removing the stock speakers and head unit is going to save a few pounds. If you could swap the front seat with a non motorized unit from an LX 4cyl Accord that should help as well.

Basically, remove everything that's nice about the car!

Why rip apart a nice Front-Wheel-Drive Luxury Coupe to shave a few 10ths ???

Leave the CL intact and go out and buy an early 90’s Mustang 5.0 GT 5-Speed for a few grand.

Damn right, Shawn, that's why I was asking for realistic weight savings, not stripping the car like a chop shop.

kill one wiper, racing seats, single muffler, power window motors, power door lock actuators, horn, all the inspection shields, hydrolic lifts on hood and trunk, aluminum oil pan, air bags, that all I can think of for now.
