mattg and soopa are pros! (bumper/headlight removal)

This is harrrrrrrrd! Well considering that you need the following

1) sockets: 10mm, 8mm,
2) Large phillips for 3 center screws where the grill meets the bumper, flathead screwdriver for a billion plastic clips: little bitches and big bitches.

3) MOST important of all! T-20 security socket bit, a star shaped bit with a hole in the middle to un screw a special screw on the HID low beam electrical unit.

4) Removing the roadlamp housing is ESPECIALLY a BITCH for people with Polarg M6's!
Either you're lucky and can manage for the housings to barely hang loose or the bulbs dislodge from the socket, which means a little trickey reconnection will be required.

Started at around 1:15 ish..

Hardware store run to get sidemarker/blinker amber bulbs (Sylvannia 1157A)

Had trouble with striped screw heads for about an hour...

Realized the need for T-20 socket bit

Hardware store run at 6... . Ran into some old familiar faces.

And grabbed dinner..

Dinner at 8pm

Resume working on car till midnite
BURN THE MIDNITE OIL BABY!!!

Pics to come after everything is done.

long time for the job, but there's nothing like working all day on the car and finally finishing up after the sun goes down.

Correct! you pass go and collect $200!

It was one of the "three stooges" in the middle Where the grill would make contact with the bumper.

First time you do it it is hard.

However once you get a sense for how much pressure it takes to remove the bumper it ain't all that hard. Can do it now in like 10-15 minutes.

Removing was easy. Now how the heck do I put the bumper back on? It seems like an intensely tight fit to put it back on?!?

how was it harder to get the road lamps out with polarg M6 bulbs? didnt you have to shave at the socket hole anyways to get the bulb in? after that its as easy as taking out the stock bulb.

To get the M6 bulbs in, no shaving is needed. However, since they expand due to the heat, they have to be broken to get them out. I was hoping to save them since they were working fine but popped out during bumper removal process. In the end I went back to the stock ones for less hassle. I might wana try some PIAA bulbs some other time.
