Massive Smokey CL-S Burnout

Since Anthony and I are measly CL-P owners, we can't handle the raw torque of a CL-S. Look what happened when he tries to launch his loaner:

Parking brake on?

I only attempted a burn out one night in a parking garage at a meet and it didn't happen, but I didn't use my parking brake or anything. Nice job, I was expecting a joke where he didn't pull it off or something.

Scooter - you really think a burnout would hurt the car?

why would it hurt the car? I havent done it, i was just wondering. Is the ebrake on for that to work? Does that lock up all four wheels or just the rears?

4pumped said yes, e-brake, in AIM just now.

I guess e-brake is only back wheels like in manual cars.

If your going to do burnouts like that, make sure your air pressure isn't too low. I watched a Mustang doing a burn out, and the tire came apart, the high speed shreds destroyed the wheel well and actually wrecked one of the fenders.

It's kinda funny to see it smoke up like that, but you won't find
that abuse done to my car. It does do damage to your car,
I think it is transmission related. I can't remember the details,
so I'll shuddup now..

the other day it was raining pretty hard here in the bay, so at a red light, i turned my VSA off and waited for the green. FLOORED it and peeled out for like 200 feet! my speedo said i was doing 80 when it was like 20 because i was still peeling out! very weird

But this car is an automatic. It's not as easy as revving really high and then popping the clutch.

That PGA tour guy needs to learn that having such a nice loaner car is a luxury. Most dealers will throw you in a little Sentra, but he lucked out. Is this how he repays the dealer for treating him so well?? I pray that the dealer takes a look at those tires with bald spots and bills him for them. Dog gone irresponsible kid.

That's bullshit. You may as well be keying someone elses car. You know someone's gonna buy that car with their hard earned money and then it'll be their problem. It's just an immature and ignorant thing to do IMO. Grow up and think about someone other than yourself.

my 4-cyl mustang was a automatic too...

and he had the e-brake on. As such I was holding the brake and mashing the gas in the stang!

I could light them up all day...

burnouts to me are not very impressive... but useful for making the tires sticky if you are racing. But that about it. He obviously has never tried cleaning the rubber off of the car before. And or blowing through a set of $500 tires in 3-5 minutes...

Wakattack says:

Hehehe, come on Amir, if it doesn't f'up cars, why wait until you have a loaner, do it every day with your own car!!! That way you will have lots of practice when you get a loaner. Enuff burnouts, or the wrong burnout will damage - weardown -destroy your torque convertor. And in a weak tranny car like the Acura CL/TL you will shell out your transmission pretty quickly as well.

There was so much smoke one time, that it started coming out of the AC vents. Luckily it is a 1.7 EL by Acura. basically a Honda Civic with wood trim, and a few hp?
