Making my car faster.
I am a kid and i am an inexperienced driver. so my dad says. i want to get an intake or some headers or soemthing like that, but hse says the cl-s is fast enough already. what can i do to covince him to let me get it. it is my money and i can install it. any ideas? the better mpg argument dosn't not work

If you have the cash and can do the install just do it and don't tell him, thats what I used to do.
I know I'm probably not supposed to be encouraging that type of behavior but kids will be kids. I'm not too far removed from being a kid myself

Yea i was thinking about doing it myself, but i know my parents would find out somehow and if that happened i would loose my driving privledges and it would be uninstalled. my car is my life. that would be bad

my parents will pay for the driving school they want me to be safe. so i don't know if i can't do anything to the engine then i will put it torwards a tv or system or soemthing like that

save your dough for a while and dont screw up the car at all. wax it a lot and keep it in perfect condition and let your dad see how into it you are. dont get any tickets or anything like that, and eventually he will be cool with it.

icebox is a cold air intake. made by comptech, generally considered the premier aftermarket manufacturer for acura and honda. icebox will give you 7-10 hp (I think?) for about 300 bucks (new). will make the engine a little louder, but not noticeable really until vtech (ie. if you took your dad for a ride, he would have no idea). looks stock in engine as well.

If your dad is gay, then just mod the hell of it under the hood, he won't know what to look for any way.... Just don't get any exhaust, cause he can hear that... but even with headers and intake, I don't think he will be in tuned with the car enough to know the difference.

When I was younger, I would have been elated to have a CL-S instead of an 85hp Chevy Vega with 90K miles and rust all over. But hey, I paid for it and loved it anyway.
Your dad is right, but it may take your 10 or 20 more years to realize it. Its not like you are driving a kia or hyundai or some other underpowered beater.

the main reason is that i was beaten by an audi a6 the other day. it was debatched and im pretty sure had some other stuff under teh hood. i was also beaten by one of those new bmw 745li or wahtever they are called. it was insulting bc the dude had his wife and two kids in the car. also right now i have one of the top 3 fastest cars at my school. i want the fastest. i am prideful in my youth what can i say?

my advice: ++driving performance school
++also, take an auto technology class OR just get a bunch of really good books and read a lot, before you start modding your car because a lot of people will tell you some really stupid shit that can fuck up your car or is just bad information

bro keep the car for your own pleasure. I had the fastest car in my school, and I never drove it to school, nor did I tell anyone I even had it. People will start fucking with you if you get cocky. what a lucky kid to bet gettin a badass car like a CL-S....i agree wifh beetroot...learn the car and lean the roads as well...better your driving skills and know your limits to what you and your car can do...then maybe a few mods here and there won't hurt..

Someone asked how old i am. I am only 16. This thread is not bs it is 100% true. but yea im liking the sound fo these pullies adn i box. and i am going to take a driving coarse and getting some books, my friend wants me to take out my air filter. i may aparently that will give me just as much HP. that sounds cool. jk

aiight i'm 18 i got a used 2001 cl, i value my car more than i value many things. I had no probelm putting shit under my hood since it was my money. I'd say that your best bet is to have your dad or you pay for driving school. Then after you take care of your car, and have the driving school experience. Then hopefully your dad will let you do what you please.

Dude..... save some money, college is expensive. Be happy with your 260h;, up until a year ago I was driving a rusty accord with 120hp. Who cares if you aren't the fastest, no one will know how fast you are if you make them wonder....... i.e. don't race.
