Quick question. My maintence light turned on at 27000 miles, is that normal? Is it safe for me to turn the light off?

The maintenance light goes off automatically for schedule maintenance every 7,500 miles.

Now, did it go off EXACTLY at 27,000? If not, it's probably for real. That's why I hate that scheduled maintenance shit. You have to figure out whether it's the pre-programmed warning or the real deal.

 

I don't have the manual in front of me ( ) but I seem to remember that the maintenance light starts flashing before 7,500 miles and then stays lit after it hits the 7,500 mile mark.

 

there is a way to reset it to make it go off.
