Maintenance light on at 24k...any ideas why?

I did a search for this but didn't come up with any threads, did the search recently get erased? Anyway, my "maint req'd" light did the usual flashing thing at around 24300 and then stopped flashing and became steady after that. Car runs great, I know it did this before at the 15k mark to get the tires rotated, etc, any ideas on the next interval it does this at (I never got an owners manual, bought used ) and why such a weird time to come on? what does this light usually signify? (besides the obvious maint is required haha)

It just means you need to get it in for the Scheduled Maintainance. There are two stages based on milage...flashes for ten seconds....and when you reach 24,300 it will stay on. It is easy to turn off.

On my 03' CL you turn off the car and hold the trip reset button then start that car and keep holding until it goes off. (cannot be sure for your car)

thx for the reply and for telling me how to turn it off, I suspected that it was just the maintenance reminder

For the '01 CLS, you hold the reset and select buttons down, turn the key to ON (do NOT start the car) and hold for about 10 seconds. The maint light will go off. Realize you have an '03 (cause it's a 6 spd) so maybe Acura changed the sequence.

Or the frequency of the light flashes relates to the curvature of its exponential depreciation.

god you idiots....
I am not a noob, nor an imbecile, I do not have a manual as I stated, obviously know that it is related to oil changes, and actually think your replies waste as much time reading as they did for you to write them...thanks to those who told me the sequence to reset it, one last thing, for the real noobz, the search engine was reset recently...or else I might have thought to look there, ya heard?
