Without having to dig through my manual, does anyone know why the maintainance light comes on when I start the car and stays on for about 10 seconds? I don't remember seeing this before and I think it just started happening. Everything seems ok on the car and I have about 6200 miles.

You're nearing the 7500 scheduled maintainance..

 

Like he said! 7,500 mile service is coming.

It's normal, the light begins to warn you at 6,000 miles. Eventually it will stay on.

 

does that hold true for 15k, i have 14k+ and i am getting the light at start up?

 

I comes on every 7500 mile increment. At 7500, 15000, etc ect, it will come on and stay on. If you would stop being LAZY ASH, would see that in your manual, there is a way to turn it off. I cant remember off hand, but wait till it comes on and stays on. It is real easy to turn off.
