Just hit 15K and this stupid light has been on since about 14,500??? Whats up?? Is it just for the dealers 15k servcie or is there something really wrong??

It is designed to do exactly what it's doing....worry you, concerning and make you go to the dealership and give them your business........READ YOUR MANUAL to turn it off !

 

Can it be turned off for good? I hate those things. Mine hasn't come on yet at 6k miles, but i'm sure it will soon.

 

No it can't be turned off for good...

But it comes on every 7500 miles or something, so it's
really not a big deal. You're a big boy, you deal with it every 4-8 months or so (depending on how much you drive)

What you do is turn your car/key completely off, and hold the SELECT and RESET buttons on your dash (the ones for the trip meters), and start your car while holding those. Hold them for 10 more seconds after you start the car.

The next time you turn your car on, the MAINT REQ light will be gone, gone gone.
