they make a direct fit cat for us and now that i need a cat 81 $ seems like a great deal, and from the sounds of the people that have the magnaflow exhaust on the CL should be a good product? any thoughts?

Yes, link and thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Especially if anyone knows what the benefits of it would be . . . such as should you really only need it if you have S/C, turbo, NOS or anything else that would benefit from the potential improved flow. If so, I'd be interested in this as I'm sure others may be. Could be another item for a group buy if so.

There is also a high flow Random Technology cats. They don't have for CL-S at this time just for 01 TL and AV6 with the same part #822008, however they can make one ($242 TL price) if someone can take the meausurements off and send them over. Or better yet stop by at facility by local individual (suburbs of Atlanta, GA). BTW, It will pass the smog test even in CA as long as it's not visually inspected . There is also a power gain can be realized as long as AFR is fine (tuning).

So, just a thought.

I looked at magnaflow's website and they do not list anything for the CL/TL. Also, no converters were listed for the Accord.

From the Magnaflow application link - - - part number 54054 comes up . . as Phipark noted.

Available parts for a 2002 Acura CL : 6Cyl , 3.2L

Description O2 Sensor Univ. Dir.-Fit [Exc. Calif. OBDII] -- N/A 54054 N/A

http://www.car-sound.com/catalog/af_...ehicleID=45543

I did a search on the 54054 and came up with this link . . . $69.07 hope this is correct, but I suspect we need to check the details more closely . . . sizes, funtion, fitment, ODB requirements, etc.

That will NOT bolt right up. It doesn't even have the triangle shaped flange that our exhaust has. That is a universal cat that happens to have the same diameter inlet and outlet as our exhaust.

Understand . . . sometimes there's more to it . . . as in a need to have some mods done at an exhaust shop . . . but not a high dollar one to change the flanges out.

The main issue I'd have is the flow better (worth at least 4-6hp) and does the CAT still do the job.

The stock cat. has the O2 hooked up in the middle, will this be a problem? Most aftermarket cat.'s hook up the O2 at the exit point of the cat.

The 5400 series shows to have it in the middle.
