The ones on the red car seem to be a tad bit brighter. Those are the PIAAs right?

Hey Scooter....

can you buy the PIAA bulbs somewhere in NYC?

I'm looking to get a set, but it seems like every other online store rapes you for shipping/handling. I want to know which shop I should hit up the next time I'm up there.

tough to say...i've been in performance shops where they have SOME bulbs but not others...i've been in detailing shops that carry mostly high-beams only but will order for u if u want

if there's a specific time u KNOW u'll b in NY, how bout u come to Long Island for like a couple hours, and the detail shop here in Port Washington will have em ready...or how bout this...when yer in the city, we'll meet up and exchange...i'll order a set locally and bring em with me

The only difference i can see was that the black car( mine), the bulb is just a bit more concentrated in the center, while scooter's piaa's seem to pan out just a bit more filling the casing. As a result the polargs seem clearer in the casing since it doesn't fill it all up, and the piaa seem just a bit cloudy. Well they both are almost the same, it was real close to even see that.

I just installed the PIAA 19224s in a set of 2002 CLS accessory/running lights in my 2003 CLS. And I did find that they were a tight fit. Was tempted to enlarge hole for bulb/socket, but decided not to. The only problem I can see is that the PIAAs might pull out and fall inside light when removing the socket.

that's y u don't try and remove it

seriously, there's no reason to...but u can remove the connector to the socket while the socket is still securely in the road lamp housing

Scooter put in the 19224 and they are awesome. There is a night and day difference between the 19172 and these. Wow to bad Ill be putting the PiAA back on very soon.

honestly, i don't see y u have to do that...i liked where u mounted the PIAA fogs in the first place...now u got road lamps in addition to the fogs...makes for great lighting down low...i'd say before u do anything definitive, at least see what it looks like...if it looks bad or out of place, no worries...YMMV
