M5 Lip Spoiler
Hey, i was doing some research and found the M5 lip spoiler on C.C.C.net there is the original one for 150 and the replica for 50. Do they come painted? If not how much would it cost to paint those little things with OEM paint? Anyone bought the spoiler on that website? Did you have any problems while installing it? thx for your time

Where is my super sauce?
I like the M5 lip spoiler. A lot of us do. I have one purchased from c-c-c.net
Neither the BMW version nor the replica versions come painted. You'll need to take the product to a body shop to get it prepped and painted. Make sure they know to use the flexible additive as the lip spoiler needs to bend a bit when applied.
Make sure you apply the spoiler with the BMW tape (3M tape). It's really the best way to apply the spoiler.
Juniorbean at c-c-c will tell you that the more expensive BMW product outsells the replica product even though the cost difference is significant. No one complains about the BMW version. It seems to bend well and the application is easy. Paint sticks well.
Some have said that the replica is not as bendible. Some have had paint flake off the replica, but others have blamed that issue on the body shop's paint job, and not the product. They say that you have to properly prep the spoiler so the paint sticks well. I should note that the complaints regarding the replica were from eBay replicas and not c-c-c's, but I'm not sure that matters.
I have the BMW version. I had it painted at an Acura body shop. It looks perfect and compliments the trunk lid nicely. I like the way it breaks the line of the lid without being otherwise intrusive to the eye.

Blown is Best
Definitely go with the BMW M5 spoiler. Got mine from Juniorbean with the tape. C-C-C net is a great outlet for these.
BTW - I recommend that you have the spoiler shaped before it's painted. No big deal at all. Just hit it with a heat gun until you get a more comfortable curve that follows the lines on your deck. It'll make the install process so much easier.

Hey folks, I just recieved my replica M5 lip from ccc. It seems really flexible to me, but I know nothing about spoilers or lips... or lengths. I laid it on my trunk to see how it will look and it was over 2 inces longer than my trunk?!? Are they supposed to be longer and we are supposed to cut it down? It said 47" on the website and I assumed that that was the length of my trunk since it was in the CL section. Now, am I just not beding it enough to shorten it? Advice? Comments?
