M5 Lip Installation and Forming

Got my M5 replica lip from ccc.net yesterday, and I have a couple of questions-

Length- the lip extrends about 1 inch beyond the trunk lid seam on both sides; has everyone been trimming to fit, or simply allowing it to extend over? Looks pretty fragile with trunk open. My good sense tells me I should trim and sand to the trunk width. Maybe the M3 would be a closer fit.

Contour- Appears that to match the rear trunk break line, I'll need to form this thing to be more curved to the center rear, maybe using a heat gun. Any advice here? Looks like maybe a 2-3" difference, which is a lot of forming against the non-flex direction.

I did some searches, but really couldn't find a lot of detail, so if someone has been through this with good results, help is appreciated. Pictures would be good, too.

There is a post with instructions so search for it. I put mine out in the sun for an hour then you put the tape on the ends and pull the center back and it fits. Check for the thread about this though.

Yeah I have a M5 lip I bought recently, and having my body guy install it for me. Not sure how I will have him put it on, but I'll figure it out.

I'm starting to think they sent me the wrong part- seems too long even when bent.
Anybody else using the ccc.net replica M5?

I am using the CCC.net genuine M5 spoiler. He's a nice guy so contact him. He was very professional when I dealt with him.

ccc.net confirms I have the wrong part- 49" instead of 47". No wonder the mounting looked strange compared to everyone's pictures.

Sending it back, sigh.... no spoiler anytime soon.
