I just bought a 03 CLS Auto. Everything is great except for..... when I am sitting at a light in gear... when the A/C kicks on and off the the car lurches as the engine speeds up to compensate. Is anyone else experiencing this? I have driven many autos that havent done this before.
Any comments would be appreciated, thanks

 

Very normal. This is know in CLS. I complained as you 2 yrs ago. I do not feel it anymore

 

Normal for the engine to change idle speed when the A/C kicks in. Check out the FAQ - it seems like this 'issue' has been around for all of the generation 2 CL's.

As Nashua Night Hawk says - I barely notice it any more.

 

if my memory serves correctly, its because the ac compressor makes the engine rev a tiny bit causing the car to lurch forward. notice how it happens with the ac on.
