Low Beam Headlamp Clip Problem

I have a 2001 cl. I'm trying to replace a low beam headlamp. I removed the clip(Spring?) and now have no idea how to put it back in the right position. I'm thinking I shouldn't have removed it? I've looked online for diagrams, but have had no luck at all....... Thanks for any help!!!

Yeah...I fiddled with this one for a WHILE before I got it right when I re-did my headlights.

The trick is all about tension. You gotta HOLD the actual housing closed as tight as you can and then wiggle the metal clamp in. It's really hard to describe on here

goodluck!
