Loving my S03s

I'm a bit late on the bandwagon with this whole modding thing... but I ended up installing the S03s (225/45/17) today and they're great! no more squealing through 1st gear. Just stick, sticky, and sticker! I hope they last a long time.

i also got my car aligned and it was PERFECT even with the CT drop and no camber. I'm happy with it now. As soon as I get to Austin my Eibach sways, Zex, M5 spoier, and Sills are waiting...

w00t!

Yep, you'll eat 'em up fast w/ a 6-speeder and ZEX. Rotate every time you change your oil (or sooner). I rotate my SO3's every 4k miles.

you may get 10K miles out of them.

Nah, they are some badass tires. I've got the toyos, and I rotate every oil change. Have lasted quite awhile.

The S03's rock. Prolly the best summer tire made for the CL.

You should have stayed with your stock size, as you will lose a bit of power with the smaller size.

I don't think he'll loose power. If anything he will be faster. The only down side to those tires besides the life time, is that he might get a few extra miles on the OD per year that shouldn't be on there.

He'll actually lose some torque, how much is the question.
I seen some surprising numbers on the dyno in regards to tire diameter.
You're better off with the stock diameter in my opinion.

I'm off by 3% on the speedo so any torque loss will be minimal..

these S03s are Bridgestone Potenza S03 Pole Positions.

the diameter is off by very little. "surprising #s" please explain to what extent? Also, I'll definitely be faster... no question about it. If I was going to be slower then here would not be better times on the board i nrespect to the tires.

I don't think you know what you're talking about sonorkid... any torque loss would be minimal in comparison to actually connecting the power to the ground.

On my second set of S03s and IMHO one of the best street tires avail for all conditions. After being a long time RE71 and S02 user (6 sets on a previous car), the S03s are even better. Driving moderately, mileage for me has been ~20k-25k miles after tire rotations every 5k miles. Running CT spring and sways as well.

I now have over 60k miles on the odo of my '01 CL-S (and with no tranny probs ever - crossin' my fingers!) and figure that the change in mileage is fairly small ~2% due to the undersize of the tires at 225/45ZR17. The size does give a slightly better launch and gets the engine into its sweet spot a bit sooner than running on stock size tires. I've found this compound/size combination works very well for both straightline and road course fun...

late...
