lost to a lincoln ls v8

on my way to the gym, we lined up on m5, the road was empty and as soon as it turned green we both went at it, i got the jump in him and held him off till the end of 2nd gear then at like 75 mph he inched past me and my bumper was at the back of his front wheels

those things are pretty quick

oh yea

i was in my dads gs300:P

i wish i was in my car, i woulda put bus lengths on him

Whew i was gonna say in your CL it'd be damn hard to lose to an LS.

Could u tell what year it was? The newer ones got a HP boost.

This past summer I was crusin @ OC, MD and I just took off easy from a light and I could hear a new LS to my left screaming next to me. I punched it and caught him, stayed beside him then punched it again and dusted him. He had an astonished look on his face

I was scared there for a second !! The new 8 has close to 280 H.P. so it's no slouch.

No slouch but they are not that fast for a V8. No comparison to the Lexus, Benz, or BMW V8s. I'd say acura but oh wait...we have no V8! Well, no match for our V6!

I was gonna get an 03 lincoln LS V8 when i was searchin for a new car 2 months ago. the ONLY reason i didn't get it was because it was RWD. if it was FWD or AWD i woulda been all over it. it was pretty damn fast and it shocked me how well it handled. woulda loved to pimp one of those

True.

For a V8, they aren't shit. I was going to buy one before the CLS...I was on a sedan kick coming off the Maxima...

Drove the 6 & 8, was not impressed...seemed very cramped inside and they depreciate like a lead brick.

Marc S is in PA tho. :P

I was just pointing out his decision may have been b/c of driving conditions, not b/c he didn't think RWD was pimp.

The GS300 is SO underpowered; nothing like the GS400/430 or even the Aristo!!

But I feel like you today, darrin; I was @ stoplight next to a newer Caddy Deville (some aged guido @ the wheel with his girl/wife next to him). Light turns green and were both rolling HARD but he begins to pull some carlengths on me and then swung into my lane (in front of me). Of course, I was driving my 2000 Nissan Quest @ the time. My dawg (2002 Maxima SE) would have have blown the doors off his Deville with little effort.

(by far, it seems like more folks pick with me when I'm rollin in the minivan than the Max.)

The V8 LS at least the new 2003 ones are pretty much dead even with an Auto CLS, maybe a few tenths of a second slower.
6.4 seconds to 60 for the new ones.
