Don't sweat that too much...
Civics have more potential power than some people realize.
Not to mention that you not only had a couple passengers, but look at your sound system.
I'm sure he didn't have the weight you had.

just so you know, there are so many variations of the B16A, so when someone says B16 they dont necessarily mean the USDM 99-00 Si ones. those are relatively fast but the JDM ones are much faster.

also, the B16A is an excellent CHEAP starting point.
1500 shipped for the engine and tranny. the tranny is Y1 which is equivalent to the JDM type-R tranny, same gearing minus LSD. the stock valvetrain is good to 9200 RPM, the type-r head is actually cast from the B16 and then ported not from the B18C1
also the B16A1-XX im not sure how far they go up to honestly, i only have worked with friends with the B16A1(4million series) and B16A2 (2Million series) different intake manifold, etc. the difference in power is noticeable.

civc, old accords abd integras are slow, cl-s would destroy them, but them preludes are fast. powered by a 2.2 200 hp engine, and they're a lot lighter than your type s. although your s would be faster than the prelude, there are many things that can be done to the prelude to make it faster than yours. and when people who buy preludes, most likey, they are modifying them, and they're mad fast. and people who modify civic are morons, and people who buy integras are morons too. and i bet you can take on newer accords also. but you can do a lot to the 3.2 type s also, super charger, whole exhuast system, reporgramming and intercooler, should bump the cl past 400 hp. prolly take on corvettes and keep up with the Z06.

That's pretty closed-minded...I have a friend here with an ALL-MOTOR Integra that would burn a CL-S...even witha few mods.
Granted, you are right in everything you said about the Preludes, it's not too hard to pull enough out of a Civic or Integra to run with CL's.
And the Accord??? Forget about it...that shit is right up there behind the Prelude...
You need to broaden your horizons.

i didn't mean to say the accrods were slow, it would be a tight race, but the cl should come out on top. And as for the civics and integras, they are too much of shit cars to modify.
