so me and my buddy were crusin down to the shore cuz it was such a gorgeous day and some 92-95 civic coupe started pullin on me hard and downshifting. i was takin the the bait but i wasnt planning on racing. but my buddy kept eggin me on and bitchin so i was like ok. we started from a dig at a light and i took him off the line and took him in 1st, then in 2nd he started to pull hard on me and took me in 2nd and 3rd. race him again from a roll at like 25 in 2nd gear and he beat me again. both by a car length. next like i asked him if he was a single cam and he was like yea, and i was like fuckin a man. i was so dissapointed and too make it worse some chick i went to H.S. with was sittin shotgun, fuckin laughin. ho. sooo i guess this kid had some work done. he must have had more than I/H/E to beat me.

so yea my car is slow and i lost to a single cam vtec coupe. but not that it really matter but i had a full tank of gas and a 240lb college offensive lineman sitting shotgun.

He had to be swapped..even with I/H/E flywheel clutch whatever and you having the same thing he shouldnt be pulling that hard on you.

 

nah he would have pulled on me ten times harder. i could tell it was a SOHC. i guess im just that slow. i kno theres nothin wrong with my motor. i dont burn oil, eat up coolant or nothin, good gas mileage. idk. fuck it whatever.

nah he didnt pull hard enough. unless he had the lowest shot possible.

you could be right, cuz the kid had a little shit eatin grin when he told me he was single cam.

im looking at it this way. IF he had an LS or B16 swap then my car did really fucking good. a GSR swap would have blown me away. if he was a single cam then my car is even slower than i thought it was. cuz my F22 is in perfect condition, and i know i could walk a D16.

 

It's very noticable in the engine when vtec crosses over if the car was dohc or sohc. Like you said, you can tell if it's one or the other just by listening. Just like the K series is very distinctive from the b/h series.

At least you have heated mirrors and a clean ass ride.

 

sad part is i dont have heat mirrors. i dont have a leather CL soo not as much as options as you have. but thanks Cocoa. clean car as well.

but as of now im putting 2 and 2 together im leanin toward that civic having an LS swap. ill talk to his g/f on facebook and get teh real answer hopefully.

 

Maybe we can swap mirros and I can give you the harness for it. I dont need it.

i mean, you had the bigger passenger and your car weighs more to begin with.
like another person has said, it would be a closer race if it were just the drivers in the car...

still, the civic is much less in weight and could probably out handle your car as well.
i have an 02 CL-S which is must quicker than any of my civics, but they handled so much better!
(just thought i'd throw that in there since you guys were talking about being better because of luxury or whateve to make him feel better)

also, keep in mind my suspension my CL is set up better than i had on my civics!
but yea, it does handle well for a luxury car

 

A sad loss, but maybe he didnt tell you all he had done. If you ever find out what he has, post it up. But that 240lb lineman didnt help. He had, a what, 110lb girl in his passanger seat? haha.
