Looking for a solution……… Zaino

Picked up my new cls in late Dec. Immediately did Z1and three coats of Z2 (over a period of days allowing cure time). I notice one afternoon that when the sun hits the car just right that down both sides there are clearly buffer marks/swirls, apparently the dealer buffed the car. Like I said, you can only see them when the sun hits it just right.

I decided this wasn’t tolerable so I clayed the car and wash it 3 times with Dawn. I thought I had got rid of them so I did the Z1 and Z2 again. Although it’s much less noticeable, I still have the problem.

Does anyone have any suggestions to resolve this? I’d prefer not to clay and start all over again but I will if it’s the only solution. How ‘bout Z5 will that handle it? All assistance is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

By the way mods, if this needs to be move to detailing, feel free. Just trying to get as many suggestions as possible……………

I would try the Z5...........or I have used miquires(?) #9 and 3M swirl remover. All 3 products have worked for me. DO NOT PUT SWIRL REMOVER ON WITH A BUFFER. Use straight line movements, not circular ones when you put the stuff on.

Wrong...if the swirl marks are the results on an rotary buffer, probably cause that's what most prof detailers use, the only thing that'll take them off is either another rotary, which I recommend you stay away from, or an orbital, like the Porter Cable 7424. Doing it by hand will help, but it'll never get the results of an orbital.

It'll work wonders on your clearcoat.

I use 3M SMR (Swirl Mark Remover) Works great. Get hte one for Dark Colored Cars.

If you don't fee comfortable with that, take it to a prof detailer.

That's why I asked the dealer not to wash, or wax my car when I picked it up. Maybe you can find a detailer that will do it for you for a few bucks.
