Looking like the time has come

About a month ago unfortunatly my CL was in a 4 car pile up. What sucked was I was #2. Long story short, the person in front of my slammed on their brakes and I tried to cut over to the other lane but it was too late. I ended up hitting their back corner bumper. A second or two after I was rear ended by an SUV and then another SUV. Had some back and neck pain in which have been almost recovered since then. My car was not recovered. My insurance claimed it as a total loss.

I searched around the outskirts of VA to find another to swap over all my goodies. I found one in my area and the seller sold it before I came out to look at it. I looked for a good two weeks sitting on Craigslist hitting refresh every 15mins hoping to find another around the area and it just didn't happen. I ended up with a 99 E46 328i. Has some cosmetic mods done to it and needed some light maintence, but I got it at a good price.

I ended up buying the CL back from insurance because of all the time and $ I have spent on getting it to where it was at. As some of you may know from the other site, I did a 3.7L bore and stroke with 08 MDX parts. It wasn't direct P&P, but we made it work.

I'm currently trying to sell the car whole. Calculated all the more obvious parts to about 10k. I also have so many new parts sitting at my house. Parts were going to go in this spring but it didn't happen. If the car doesn't sell whole, it's going to be stripped down to the frame. Please do not post or PM me about calling dibs on parts. This is not a part out thread. When the time comes *cough* 2/22 *cough* it will be first come first serve. I will not be holding parts unless a deposit is put down. Prices will be very resonable and there are a ton of new/ almost new OEM and aftermarket parts. So keep an eye out

Front dent in bumper, fender damage

Rear has the most damage, tail lights broke, trunk lid bent, trunk pushed in and down

sorry for your loss. Wish i could see pics right now. Glad you made it out okay. Waiting for the f/s thread.

Is the engine okay? You could keep it and wait for a CL6 to pop up and swap it over...

The car is still drivable. The repair for the rear was too much for what the car was worth. Exhaust didn't get a scratch though.

man thats an easy fix. i know you told me you were gonna look for another clean one, but the amount time it will take to fix this will be far less than buying another one and transfering all the parts over.

edit: forgot u had already bought another car....

Spoolinspoon, been watching this on craigslist, might be a good deal for you to swap over. Don't know much about your car but this cls6 looks pretty clean at $5k. Good luck and I might message about the internals you did for my build.

Yep, going to sell everything. Will post here as well when i create the thread.

I wish that posted on CL after the accident. For 5k, thats a bit high for the mileage. Also some minor body work needed...

Is it my imagination or are more CL owners losing their CL's in accidents than those who just simply want to sell it?

Not saying this is the case here but as a car gets older obviously it depreciates and when that happens you start getting a younger driver base who like to speed and drive more aggressively than when a car is new and in the $30K+ range and most people who afford those cars are 30+. (Obviously this isn't always the case but just saying.)

Sorry about your lose, hope your next car treats you right.

That would make sense but most of the wrecked CLs are long time owners (spoolin included).

Well everything would of been straight if the people behind didnt follow so close and hit me. But if u look at it, it could of been worse. Need to find a buyer for the motor. But then again, I dont want to sell it to just anyone. Person would need to know their shit as I dont want some iddiot to own this motor.

Man I live in NOVA and it seems people are all up in your @$$ these days. Most of the folks are on the phone while doing this, not even paying attention. Sorry to see another Anthracite cl go down. I always loved your ride man real clean and unassuming 3.7 CLS. I always wanted to do the quad tip exhaust setup like yours, but never got around to it.

Anyone looking for misc. Interior items, etc. Shoot me a PM, when i start to strip the car I dont want to accidently break something that u wanted. Ive been getting some PM's on the motor. Motor has about 35k miles. Will swap out the headgasket as my recent oil analysis detected a small trace of coolant. The amount is so little it did not affect any wear metals. Dynoed on dynojet last year at 300.x whp /280.x wtq. Motor is no joke and not for the weak heart. Even running Falken Azenis RT-615's in the summer, first and second spun. This would be when the tires were sticky enought to pick up pebbles and grass.

Just a little spoiler.....During the accident I was a few days away from installing the 80mm TB setup that civicdrivr is running. So that will be up for sale as well. This would most likely be a local sale as NVA-AV6 (Paul) will need to install and make sure everything is ok. Also have the same intake setup as we bought intake parts together to save some $. I will be selling these at cost only.

be willing to go look at it for you , and the best part about the cars here, is that they don't rust like on the east coast

I would look at dealers auctions and buy one with the slight front damage then swap the parts over and drive it till it die again.

I met you about 2 years ago at the Azine meet in richmond. I was driving the J32 swapped Accord.

I remember you, you had just swapped it not too long before the meet. I'm not just going to sell the mufflers, will have to be the whole exhaust.

If you end up parting out the motor I would possibly be interested in the whole lower rotating assembly.
