Looking for input on CL-S lightweight flywheels
Besides Comptech, who else makes Lightened single mass CL-S Flywheel, fidanza?
Let's assume that i was not planning to use a blower, wouldn’t the comptech flywheel be too light? I read accounts that its harder to launch from a stop, and a pain to daily drive.
What is everyone’s general consensus about the comptech Flywheel and clutch combo?
Thanks

Well I have no experience with a lightened flywheel in the CL-S, but I did have a 7.5 Fidanza flywheel in my ol' CRX. It was great, and couldn't call it a "bitch" to daily drive, but you had to blip the throttle on normal upshifts because the rpms would drop too quckly, hehe. That was going from a 20lbs stock flywheel to a 7.5lb one.
I remember reading that our cars have a very heavy flywheel, something in between 28-30lbs. I would say anything below 12lbs would be too light for our cars.
Good luck.

Comptech is the only company that makes one right now. However I'm sure others could be modified to fit. The problem with the Comptech clutch/flywheel is that it uses the factory pressure plate which is the weak point in the 6-speed drivetrain.
