looking to buy a CL
hi i'm looking to buy a CL, I doesn't really matter it is a Type S or not. i just love the look of this car, outside and inside, also i want to get the Auto/triptronic version.
so what kind of things do i need to look at especially in this car??? any flaws or things that are quite common to happen??? i just need some ideas so when i look for one, i would be able to point some things out.
Thanks

yeah if i can get a Type S, i will go for it. My main priority is to get a car, because my old car just got written off. Its a little hard to get a CL here in Canada because everyone here goes for the TL.
Another note, im looking for a 2001-2002 CL.

Go for an 03'. They have tail lights that people seems to like as well as a "more agressive front bumper". The trade of is that you don't get the lights underneaith. Keep in mind, stock, the at 5W...five. So, the 2003 isn't a step back style-wise.
The 2000-2002 is a sweet car. The tranny is awful the changed it in 03. Make sure that you get coverage if you buy an older CL. You won't regret it...good luck!
feel free to pm (private message) if you have more questions.!

Welcome to the board.
Whatever you do go for the Type S over the base model. Try and get a 2003 Auto. Some dealerships may still have some in stock and willing to deal at a great price.

82,000 kms
but its not a done deal yet, im gonna get it inspected and everything first, just put a deposit only.
question: when i test drove it, i slammed on the gas pedal to see how fast it picks up. And to me, it didnt seem like 260HP. My mom has a 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue(which has a 3.5 L DOHC, around 215HP & 230 TQ, is about 100 lbs lighter), and i felt that my mom's car is faster. Is it just because the CL is heavier compared to my mom's car??? or is something wrong??? maybe ill go test drive another CL here.
or maybe the car is not a type S, what other things can i check to see if its a true type S or not. and dont say badges!!! lol

CL-S has Perforated leather, firmer seats, and lumbar support.
CL-S has 'Type S' on the trunk and shift knob. (CL-P has a flat leather knob)
CL-S has white instrument cluster.
CL-S has an actuator .
Ebony Cl-S interiors use the Black (bowling bowl) wood trim.
CL-S uses 17" 5 spoke rims. CL-P has 16" rims.
CL-S has a VSA button.

wassup bcblade, just picked up a 2001 TYPE S myself here in Toronto 2 wks ago...90 KM for $21000 CDN. I love this car, be glad u chose the Type S its worth it, i just wish my car had NAVI.
VSA-vehicle stability assist, basically the computer senses wheel spin, and corrects it, if your racing turn it off, otherwise leave it on, it snowed here in TDot a few days ago, and the VSA ! light kept flashing when i was playing around in the snow...COOL.
