Looking at a '03 CL-S

I'm considering upgrading my current ride (02 i4 Accord, AT) to a 2003 CL-S 6spd. I found one that I really like, but it has 59K miles. It's a little on the high end, I think. My question is whether or not I should wait a little longer to see if a lower mileage CL-S pops up or if I shouldn't worry about the mileage too much and just go for this one.

depends on what you're looking for and how much they want for it, i picked up my CLS-6speed a few months ago with 49k miles for $18,700 and couldn't pass it up at that price. My only complaint is that it didn't have navi, but that's ok, the ones that had it around here didn't have the 6 speed. If it's the color you want and the price s right, don't let the mileage turn you away; as a honda owner you should know these cars are capable of 300K+ miles. You also may want to keep in mind that the 6 speeds are quite hard to find.

It's exactly the color I want. It's black on black. It doesn't have the navi, but it's not like that's crucial. Another thing I wanted to know is if the MT had any problems like the AT do? I'll probably go take a look at it.

i would think Cali would have a bunch of them. if the price is right, take it. i picked up my 6-speed with 28,500 miles for $ 20,000 just over a year ago. if i went back in time, i'd buy it again.

so far my only complaint: drinks too much gas

check the black marke on this site, the other day i believe there were a few-not sure of the colors though

as long as the car has been taken care of dont worry too much about the miles.
how much??

It's listed as $21,070 at a non-Acura dealership, so I'm guessing I can get it for less than that.

Yeah, you should be able to get it for cheaper then that...

There has been a couple of CLS 6spds for sale privately on the Black market here w/ less miles for less money... Couple on the east coast for $19K...

I always point out that if the car is exactly what you want (color, navi/non-navi) etc, then it is probably worth a few extra bucks to get it...

you should definitly be able to get it cheaper than that, if it has 59k miles. mine was also from a non-Acura dealership and they couldn't wait to get rid of it.

ok, but does the manual tranny have any problems like the automatic tranny, cause I don't want to get myself into anything I can't afford to keep fixing.

The only reason why I own an acura is because the 6spd didn't have problems like the autos... If Acura didn't offer the 6spd on the 03 CLS, I'd be driving a G35, BMW or Accord 6mt coupe now

36K miles on mine, but never a problem with the tranny.

With 59K miles on the one you're looking at, all the usual issues should have been worked out by now (warped rotors, sunroof rattle, etc).

Mine's got just over 53k miles on it and tranny (along with the rest of the car) is running strong. I didn't think twice about buyin a 6 speed. I'd be more worried about spending too much. Either way, good luck!

Mileage isn't as important as how it's been driven and cared for.

One with more highway miles instead of lower city miles would be better. Buy from somebody who doesn't race it all the time either.

Mine has 78K on it and runs just fine. It's only had Mobile 1 since new. And, although I drive faster than some, I don't race and cowboy it around.

Find one like that and it won't make much difference on the miles (mine's not for sale).

I would try to get a better price....I bought my 03 CL-S NAVI 6MT with 23K on it for $23,000. That's from a dealership, by the way.

You can definitely do better, in my opinion.

Dont let the dealer try to bully you with that price. I bought my 03 CL-P with 31k for 14,500. Offer the bastards 18,000 and say you'll walk out with it today. Even better offer them 17,000, and dont go any higher than 18,500. Trust me they will still make money off of it.
