Great find! That Mercedes must be a pretty good track car, b/c the Mclaren is pretty damn good - and it got beat by 4-5 seconds! The FX45 beat the a/t CL, hah. The new Accord must have a crappy new suspention to have 40hp more than the last gen and still get whipped by a good 15 seconds...

But what the hell is 15. 1989 Pontiac Trans Am Turbo (4A)

I don't think this are the fastest times, i think it's just lap times from a track event at the cirlce, otherwise i would expect to see the m3 and new cts near the top.

Me: I have a CLK-GTR.
Person: Yea, I have a CLK too.

The z34 does the 1/4 in 15.8 and 0-60 in 7.5 so it could a chance at beating a base CL

AS much as i like honda product, i find this list somewhat hard to believe. I mean do ppl actualy ship a CL to germany and test it out? I guess its possible that they run that track for testing prior to production. But where is the NSX? THat position seems more like where a NSX will be.. dont u think?

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. The only way this list would have any kind of meaning is if it was the same driver driving all the vehicles in identical conditions.

People don't usually ship a car to Germany that often, but ALL the major manufactors do

LINK/Pointer to numbers pasted above: http://www.car-videos.com/performance/track.asp?track=7

Is there any reason to believe that the numbers are NOT from a "Cartest 2000" computer simulator? Here is a quote from their website:

"Where do you get your performance numbers?

The performance numbers come from the Cartest 2000 computer simulation program. This java-based application allows you to enter specifications for a vehicle, which is normalizes to perform mathematical acceleration and track simulations. This application must make several assumptions about power delivery, center of gravity, suspension geometry, etc. so the results may not match real-world numbers exactly. Every effort has been made by Car-Videos.com to achieve as realistic numbers as possible. In the rare case that satisfactory numbers cannot be achieved, the model in question is removed from the site."

they let pretty much anything drive that course on open track day. I was there last summer and did a lap in my rental car.

there were no instructions beforehand, no signing of waivers, no safety checks- nothing. You just pay ~$11 for a ticket, insert it in a gate and then go! It's full of motorcyclists and high-end cars so it's very easy to get into dangerous situation quickly there.

that list of cars above is not at all representative of what you'd see there and is really a bunch of BS because there are so many cars that should be on there yet are not listed. The only domestic I saw was an older Corvette and there were no Japanese cars. Hondas are rare to see in Germany and I've never once seen an imported Acura (not to say they didn't bring one in to test).

EDIT: ok, I see from the post above that the numbers are not real but from a sim program

The whole thing is just theoretical. The 2001 CL isn't even a Type S, but just the base CL. They have a theoretical top speed of 140, a 0-60 of 7.1, and the 1/4 @ 15.7. Compared the the TL Type S they show more realistic numbers (top speed - 148, 1/4 @ 14.8). Too bad they didn't simulate those two cars on any of the same tracks.

That's sweet. Some surprises, indeed.

All I know is that the Supra turbo is a MONSTER, even today. That is one strong car!!!
