Long Neck or Short Neck?

Anyone know what size filter we need for an AEM CAI filter? I know its a 3-inch for the type-S but, there seems to be 2 sizes for the length of it, there is a long neck and a short neck on C-C-C.net Can't check car now, at the dealership for the tranny recall.

One more question, does anyone know where I can get the bolt with the rubber stump around the bolt, that screws(holds) the CAI to the frame of the car? Mine seems to be ripped.
thanks!

the long neck = more surface area = more are being sucked in...

You should be able to find rubber washers at an auto parts store or try Lowe's or Home Depot.

your best bet is to call AEM and tell them the screw broke... the'll send you one for free (maybe) and it will be manufacture's specs... home depot is cool the get it right away but the aem the stud is attached to the rubber thingy if you put an entire bolt through a rubber washer... it may not absorb all the shock which means the little flange is gonna take more abuse...

aluminum intakes are really pussy and it will snap off... take it seriously ive seen an intake (similar application as the cl) it went under the sheet metal... he didnt tighten the bolt enough so it rested on the sheet metal into the wheel well... slowly but surely it SLICED a hole right through the intake he was responisble cuz he admitted to not tightening the screw...
