Should put a nice big hole in any attempts to claim that all the speeding crackdowns and traffic cops and photoradar sites and all that other bullshit somehow reduces that. Problem is you can bet they'll (incorrectly) use the data to try to justify FURTHER restriction on driving enjoyment.

I'd settle for all cops sent back to useful anti-crime duty instead of speeding bullshit. That would be a big improvement.
Pull over drunk drivers, stop drug trafficing, help assist with or direct traffic near accidents, get people off the road with expired tags, etc.

Well, in reality, the left lane should be used for passing only and then you should be back over for the next guy to pass you.
One little problem--the 1 trillion cars on the road won't exactly allow for this.

I have no problem with cops setting up speed traps in residential and business areas. No need to be going 60 in a 35 MPH zone.
On the highway though, traffic should be able to set their own acceptable speed. What does writing someone a ticket for 72 MPH in a 55 MPH zone do?? (I have 3 tickets total, and ALL 3 are for the exact same violation... 72/55) Ridiculous.

Totally agree about the left-lane bandits. In Texas anyway, I can't tell you how many times they'll be a pickup truck toddling along in the left lane with absolutely no one in front of him and a big backup of cars behind it.

So misleading. 58% of the deaths were people not wearing seatbelts. So lets see..... if we educate people to wear/enforce better people wearing seatbelts we could probably reduce the deaths by half that 58%.
But i am sure they will say the speed is what caused the deaths. Politicians suck ass
