Little Upset with handling. How can I Improve?

Ok my previous car which I still have at home in NY was a V6 Alero. I had 225/50ZR/16 Dunlop Sport 5000's on it. The wide body and light back for some reason made the car handle great. Maybe it was that traction control Olds uses. Whatever it was I could take a turn at 50 and it would hold nicely. Maybe it was the tires whatever it was I want that feeling on my CL. What can do this. Cause today I took at turn like I would in the Alero to test out it's limits and I pretty much lost control of the car the car was sideways and skidding. I want to hold these turns.

For handling while cornering you need sway bars and tires. Those two things alone will make a world of difference.

Springs are good for lowering the center of gravity a bit as well as reducing squat and brake dive. Oh and looks too. Not extremly helpful in turning, but great for going straight.

I have sway bars and I think it is the best $300 (including install) I could have spent to increase the handling abilty of the CL-S.

I wasn't in love with my stock CLS handling either. Now it's excellent. Here's what I did. Comptech springs and Toyo Proxes T1S 225/45x17. The tires are ultra hi perf Zrated. No mileage guarantee, but they are tight and stick like glue and don't rub.

You'll see different opinions about sways vs. springs or both. IMO the springs are enough. Lowering CG is what all engineers aim for to make great handling. The COmptechs drop about 2" in front and 1.5" in back. This rake reduces the tendency of the front end to plow at the limit in a corner, so the result is a F/R balance and a 4-wheel drift if you push it until you start sliding. Very sweet. Also, with a lower CG the existing sways become more efficient because there's less load. And as a bonus, the springs make the car look much better. I have no detectable ride penalty. A corner that I could take at no more than 55mph before, I can take now at over 60mph. Big difference. Don't underestimate the importance of tires. I've driven CLS with springs and stock tires. It's better, but those all-season things gotta go. I have them in my closet.

My 2 cents.

1" in the back, 1.5" in the front.

First thing I noticed was to much sway! Replaced shocks, springs, and sways and now handles good but now if anything it slides
easier with the stock tires. Am searching now for just the right wheel combo. I want
looks and performance so hopefully soon it
will happen!

I 100% agree!! I just installed the sways and they are great $300 investment. No hassle with the install, they go in and your car goes way better. Next up, better tires.
