this is the cockiest board i have ever seen!!! lol [including me of course]...like how much pride do you have to have to simply exploit the fact that someone didn't spend some time searching for two things when you guys know the answer! c'mon, if you know it, just f'in say what it is. he spent more time typing it in and creating a link for it than it would have taken to describe it...i thought you were supposed to come here and find answers, discuss issues, reverse your ignorance, etc.

great we're off topic again, why does that happen so much on this site? lol

oh yeah...and...

How about because there is no one certain true answer!

There's no way to accurately tell what a mod will give on everyone's car because each mod is tested and marketed differently.

For instance:

Adding an IceBox to an otherwise stock 5AT CL-S will add 10whp.
Adding Comptech headers to an otherwise stock 5AT CL-S will add 25whp

Adding an IceBox and Comptech headers at the same time to an otherwise stock 5AT CL-S will not = 35whp.

It's not a simple A + B = C.

Why is that concept so difficult to grasp?

not true, try going to some bmw meets...

it's just that people can easily use the search function, but they don't. answers are out there, you have to help yourself before people help you.

all SO true...next time i'll search harder! and i love Acurazine: i have learned so much here.

and mrsteve, you're right, it isnt hard to grasp, but i always went with what companies told me, and never realized it is NOT "A+B=C" more like (A/x) + (B/x+1/2[A+B]) = C...lol, my point is that a lot of small factors come into play:

which has to be why this thread didn't get far...our experience CAN come up with a list that is FAR more realistic than the actual companies, but we'll still be off...i say we do it anyway...page 1?? but we have to add some more...

BTW, great thread! i just hope the list gets completed sometime soon. lol...with our REALISTIC! numbers...then we should send this to the companies and show the hassle they caused us here with all of these ignorant 18 yr olds...wait

It's not totally pointless, the thread just needs to have a big ass disclaimer stamped all over it...

what is this?!! lol... you suck mr. steve...i can beat you if we had two of the exact same cars lined up!...wait, son of a bitch, that isnt possible because of all the factors that come into modding a car...or maybe its just our Acuras. lol

[btw, i wrote that with a smile on my face the whole time...im completely joking...sometimes people dont pick that up on a forum...]

now im convinced this thread is lost and pointless...thought it had something

wow, obviously most of the people on here are flippin immature and have nothing better to do than talk shit on a thread....
nobody said anything about exact numbers or a+b=c, but what the hell ever..
this was supposed to be informative to those who dont have much knowledge on what parts to get for a certain amount of money, and whats the best bang for the buck. again, wtf ever....most of these threads get ruined by dumbasses that have no fuckin common sense...soooo, it is what it is

YES: it is what it is, the thread starter gave up as well.

look, i was with the [good] idea, but i guess no one has the answer/ we're ALL too lazy to put a list together...probabaly b/c everyone with the answers has the mods they want and the list and time invested would be pointless to them. this really woulda been great for newer people and for rare mods...im still for it, but i guess we have to learn how to take a joke first...

Okay first off. Fuck you too. You ruined this thread by lacking the common sense to realize what I was trying to say.

Second. This has nothing to do with being immature or anything of the sorts. It has to do with you being ignorant and failing to grasp a simple concept that it is IMPOSSIBLE to list what mods will gain what horsepower and use it as a standard rule applied across the board. Simply impossible. If you wanted to still try and apply some numbers to certain mods sure go for it. But if the numbers don't mean anything what is the point?

Many of the cars on this forum are 7 years old and have 80-100k miles on them. A mod that was tested on a car back in 2002 and put out a certain increase in dyno numbers isn't going to do the same thing here and now.

Having said that, if you want a list and can't search or read the huge FAQ thread here ya go:

Cold Air Intake 5-15whp $100-$250
Headers 20-35whp $100-1200
Underdrive pulley 5-15whp $50-200
Catback exhaust 5-10whp $500-1200
Axleback exhaust 0-5whp $100-700
B-Pipe exhaust 0-5whp $100-450
UniChip 5-12whp $250-900
Thermobloc Spacers 5-10whp $75-150
Mugen Mods 0-5whp $75-130
Lightweight wheels 0-5whp $200-3,000
BBK 0-2whp $700-2,000
Supercharger 30-100whp $1,500-$4,500
Intecooled Supercharger @9psi 150-200whp$4,000-8,000
Turbo 200-300whp $7,000-10,000

Note... the above numbers and prices mean precisely dick because there are so many used parts and alternative parts out there they will all perform differently and cost differently.

Oh and last but certainly not least. Fuck off.

Dont mind me....I have a maxima. But i think all cars should start off with intake, headers and exhaust. I have about a 40 hp gain total out of those three; untuned and no SAFC. And a drop of 7 tenths in the 1/4.

intake and exhaust = 14.59
intake, exhaust & headers = 13.96
