i wanted to get an idea how many people are coming to Long Island this weekend so i can buy enough snacks for everyone...we can use any lot next to the SOLO lot for our meet...i am also bringing my camera and older camcorder to tape everything...hopefully, we can get some fun runs in against each other

What times did you end up getting? I ended up with a 47.4... which was within .1 sec of the 2nd & 3rd place SM cars... grr! Must get suspension...

 

i had tons of fun...my best time was 51 flat...respectable considering it was my first time...i give a lot of credit to Maris for telling me bout these races, so hopefully, we can get a couple more shots at these races...the one thing on my tape that was cooler than my car was "he could've had a better flag lady...she's got about 20 pounds of cottage cheese on her ass" bahahah when i heard that, i nearly fell off my chair...well said!!!

ok, impressions...first, just by looking at the tape, my paint looks gorgeous with the Zaino...really stands out...i now have a new slogan for Zaino..."When u wanna take the paint up a notch, BAM, get Zaino!!" anyways, next...stock tires are stinky in Autocross, and suspension is lacking...i believe there is a lot of potential in these runs if u got sways and GOOD tires...i'm sold on the Toyo's at this point...next, it was nice to see our fellow CL's/TL's/NSX come out to chill for a while.

overall, the day was nice...nice weather, nice people, nice cars, and i blew it when i decided to become an utter idiot and run over my left side road lamp b/c i forgot to put it back on when i was leaving o well...at least my PIAA bulb was perfectly in tact...bah, doesn't matter...this is small potatoes compared to how much fun i had.

 

Yeah, the Toyo's are very good, but R compounds are even better (if you don't mind an extra set of rims lying around). I have 3 sets (race, summer, and winter) for the WRX and 2 for the CL.

 

o yeah, i forgot...Neuspeed upperstrut bar would also come in handy for these events...maybe i'll have mine by the time we have another SOLO down here.

 

The next SCCA event is September 30th (same place) and the next PCA event is Sept 23 (Robert Plan in Syosset (or is that in Hicksville?)). I'll be at both.

And it's Solo 2, not SOLO.

 

mike, i know y u got the 44...it's on the tape Maris gave me ...speaking of which, the tape is great...i saw how i got the back tire off the ground!! ...i also saw Mike's tires get off when he was in the slalom...considering how heavy our cars are, THAT is pretty impressive...not like the Golf tho...after going through the runs in slo-mo, it seems like tires and sways help very much, but i'm afraid the sheer weight of the car is overbearing...u should c how much my car dives in some of the turns, it's actually scary...and mike's car actually did a side step b/c he got airborne...i wonder how the VSA interprets that...i noticed my VSA wasn't really a factor...perhaps next time, ill do a couple runs with VSA off...any pics of the race available??
