LIPPSTUH's Head Light Flicker

Alright, sometimes my driver headlight goes out unexpectedly... it just stays off... i turn it off and turn it back on and it's fine. Last night it was flickering very very quickly nonstop.

Bad Bulb? Inverter? Ballast?

this happened to me when the plug for the inverter to the bulb was not properly sealed and fully seated... the inverter plug basically fried and i had to get a replacement inverter. hopefully you are lucky and it's just your bulbs. but it's easy enough to check the plug first.

Wow, that's so funny I see this thread. This happened to me tonight for the first time.

I guess I'll have to check the connections.

Just curious, you guys get the work taken care of under warranty?

Mine started cutting out and finally failed. I bought a new ballast off ebay for $150. Did the trick.

In Canada ... even within the warranty period they wouldn't fix it ... its simply not listed at all in the warranty coverage.

And finally - search. There is LOTS of information on this ... many people mentioned a bad ground. You really didn't need to start a new thread.

i think it's the ballast.
1. turn on warms up for a few seconds starts flickering... turns off sometimes.
2. driving it flickers for the longest time.
3. sometimes it just stays on.

and this is driver side only...

seems to me like the ballast is done.

I was told by a service rep in Houston the ballast/ignitors ARE covered under waranty...though bulbs are not. I wish I had that in writing, because I'm pretty sure they're not.

You're right on that one. I had my ballast replaced under warranty but I had to buy the bulb myself.
