If you know what you know now, but you went back in time and ended back to the day before you bought your CL, would you still buy it? In other words, are you satisfied with Acura and your car?

But remove the word "hell". Just a "no"
My CLS has a interesting personality of it's own.

Of course I would buy another.
I just wish we had more people here that LIKED their car and a few less HATERS.

I just get tired of all the negative threads sometimes.
I know they’re helpful to people with problems, but annoying nonetheless.

...CL is a great car, but comes with too many un-necesary worries....prolly would get used S4..wit like 12k miles on it
Of course I'll buy another CL...AMG that is
. But honestly I don't think I would buy the CL again...not because of the quality or anything...I love my car...but life is too short to just own one type of car
. BUt if I was filthy rich...I would take one of each...car.

I leased mine 2 and 1/2 years ago and I have no regrets. I may lease a 6MT next time or I may lease a 350Z or buy a 330Ci. When this car was introduced it was one of the best performance/dollar value rations out there. Since then a lot of manufacturers have caught up which is normal. In a way the CL kinda sparked a horsepower race. There's some fine machines out there now, including the CL-S 6MT. I still have until next July to figure out what to do next. After all, I could just beat my 91 Explorer or 68 Pontiac or 91 Harley into the ground and save $800 a month!
Had I known the TL-S was coming, I probably would have waited, when I bought mine (the gold one you all love so much), I really debated over the TL, I really liked the styling and the availablity of body kit.. but the horsepower, seats, and six in the dash in the CL won out in my mind...
I had a lease on a Teg at the time and was ready to bounce up... they rolled me out of my lease and into the CL-s for a little more than I was paying for the Teg.. why wait, y'know?

I just bought the CLS 6 speed, so I guess I still have confidence in Acura. But I must admit that it would have been difficult to purchase the auto CLS after reading about all the problems on this forum.
I have been driving Acuras since '94. First the '94 Integra, then the 2000 TL and now the 2003 CL-S 6spd (prior to '94, I owned several Hondas!). I never had any serious problems with these cars so it is difficult for me to look elsewhere. But the main reason I had to buy the CL-S (other than the fact that I wanted a manual coupe) is because the combination of luxury and performance for the price is still hard to beat.
So far, I love my CLS. It drives very differently than my 2000 TL. And returning to a manual car after 2 years is sooooooo refreshing.

Only regret was that they didn't have the six speed option in 00. If that was the case I wouldn't regret nothing! I am quite happy with the cls. I still get the stares, my gf still get excited to ride in it as if it was the first day i bought it, when my co-workers ask what car i drive, and I say cls they are still like wow!, I love pulling up at the honda dealership when i get oil changes and I am the only acura there...I can go on. Best bang for the buck for right now! the only other car that I wanted was a 98 SC400 but, my mom has a 97 and I can drive that whenever I want.

Personally... I love my car. I'm not too thrilled with Acura... but that could just be the dealers in my area. If I had a Park Ave. nearby, I may change my mind, but even they're starting to waiver.....

The reason he said that is because the CL/TL is NOT known for it's tranny failures. On the board it looks like there's a lot of problems (and there are...on here), however, looking at the big picture... you're talking about a 2-3% problem ratio.... which is average... that means that 97-98% have no problems, or, like he said... minor problems. Even if the number was as high as 5%, that still leaves 95% of the cars fine.....

They ain't THAT far away JB!
They ain't THAT far away JB!
I mean, even when I bought my TL-S they were higher then my local dealer... and I went in during the First PAA meet which was SETUP through this board after they made a ton of sales b/c of acl.com... you would have thought they would have given a board member a better price then I got off the street by me.
The one thing I will say is that their service is second to none. We'll see what they quote me for my 30k service as I really wanted to use PAA as my dealer, but money talks. We'll see......
