Let it slide please...

I know this doesn't go here but there's more Acura Guru's here than in the MDX forum. My wife's 03 MDX makes a terrible grinding sound after she starts it. I thought she was holding the key forward too long until I tried it and it still does it. I'm guessing it's the starter so I was wondering if anybody knows a DIY page to change it out or approx how much the stealership will charge to do it....thanks in advance.

starter should be easy to change out since it is on top of the trans case for the autos (not sure about sticks)

i have no idea how much it would cost but I would see about good will unless you got a bajillion miles on it.

Buy a service manual.
www.helminc.com

From my general experience, & starter can be from $60-$400. Then you have labor unless you DIY. A dealer is going to charge way more $.

You either have trouble reading or you know something most of us don't. Where exactly do you get a 2003 MDX with a stick shift?

shouldn't be more than 2 or three bolts, most everyother car is, although I've never changed an auto starter...

question was answered in less the 7 hours in the proper forum, so there's no need for this thread here in the 2G CL forum...

MDX thread is here:
