LED gear Indicator in the 03 CLS!!!

Would not be cool if they left the SS LED Gear indicator for the 6-speed CLS?

I would love to see that as unique to a 6-peed manual car.

Also another deature, on some maunual cars, on the speedometer, there would be indicators for the max speed for each gear. Would not be cool if the CLS got those too! This feature may save a tranny or too....

NO....I wouldn’t want this “feature”.
When you drive stick, a good driver is always aware of what gear he/she is in.
(although I’ve never driven a 6-Speed myself)

I don’t really think this would “save” any trannys from over revving.

You don’t want to be looking down at the dash for lights when you are doing High-Rev maneuvers anyway.

The only light up indicter I might find useful would be one for REVERSE.

Sometimes you jump into a stick shift car in the dark and forget where “R” is.
Every manufacture seems to put it somewhere different on the knob.

what gear is it?

I've always known what gear I am in. I think most manual drivers know that. Its a little talent you just aquire with time. Shawn S. You said you have never driven a 6 speed. You have driven 5 speeds I assume?

The only thing that shift lights are useful for is consistency in bracket racing.

I don't think it would be to usefull either. My old ride had the up shift light and it was annoying at first, but eventually I learned to ignore. Any driver knows what gear he or she is in, but I have test drove both the RSX-S 6sp and the Legend 6sp and it was easy to get lost in the gears after driving a 5sp for so long, but with time I am sure I would get used to it.

Oh yes.

All my cars since 1987 have been Stick Shift.
That is until making the mistake of thinking I would like the CL Slush-Shift.
I’ve driven 5, 4 and even “Three on the Tree”.

Just never a SIX-Speed manual.

Which cars have this feature? Once you get to know your car and your gearbox you know how fast you can go in each gear.
