led gauge questioin
i have blue led's in my gauges right now and cant see the needle very good, my question is if i get white led's will the needles be a brighter red than the stock bulbs, i mean i want them real bright

the problem with LED bulbs is not that they are not very bright... they are very bright compared to a standard bulb... The problem lies in that an LED bulb does not spread the light in all different directions. you are probably getting "hot spots" where the LED bulb sits behind the gauge. I've heard of people taking fine grit sand paper to the bulb in order to have the light bend every which way and thus produce a wider coverage of the bright light. To answer your question.. I believe white LEDs would probably be brighter than blue.

distorted has the right idea - with LEDs, to get the brightest output you want the same color bulb as the diffuser the light will travel through, which in this case is the needle so you want a red bulb.

you will have to figure out how to mount a red LED between the small motor and the clear plastic. at the same time not getting in the way of the needle or touching any of those copper wires with your + and - wires of your LED. this could cause a possible short and then you'd be shouting all kinds of words, damning the gauges to hell and back.
