Lease question -AHF

I have a lease through American Honda Finace, like many other people. I had heard once that AHF leases are assumable leases... meaning it can be transfered. However, I called them and they said this wasn't true. I also saw some CL's on the swapalease.com that were leased through AHF.... however, if the leases aren't assumable then why are people posting these cars.?

They are! Call back & speak to someone who knows. (manager, supervisor, etc)

It may depend on what state you are in as to whether your lease is assumable or not.

Best thing to do is call them back. I called them last year when my job was in question, & was told they could buy back the car, minus soe fee's, I could pay it in full, then return it(yeah right) or transfer the lease to someone. I heard not sure if it is the case, that if you transfer it, the car stays in your name, so if the 2nd owner doesn't pay your responsiable. Not sure on that.

Technically, it's just an orchestrated buy...nothing is really assumed...just a matter of terminology.

Because you still have to put the financials in the new owners name, title work has to be done & insurance has to be re-issued showing the new buyer has full coverage in his/her name. Also, you'll need to sign an odometer statement for Motor Vehicle.

It's just a matter of semantics...etc.

I guess I'll call them again and ask someone different. It seems that everyone says something a little bit different.

I'm in NY and I called to see about getting out of the lease too, I was told the only way out is total lose or to buy it out right. No lease assumption option.
