Lease Payments on 2002 CL-S

Im in the market for a new car and i have it narrowed down to the Lexus IS-300 and the Acura CL-Type S...im trying to get an idea of what kind of lease payments are available on the Acura... currently the Lexus IS 300 payments are about 400 a month..and considering that the Acura is about 4,000 dollars less, are the lease payments lower??? also does anyone know the best dealer in the lower new york state area below albany and not in NJ or CT??? thanks for the help.

I don't know about you guys, but the CL-S isn't a car I'd like to own beyond the warranty period...

There was a special dealer inventive and national lease program on the 2002 CL's that just expired this week. [It was 349/39mo/12k/1500ccr & $1k dealer cash; IIRC.]

Don't forget to look at www.leasecompare.com. They have good service and good rates.

That deal was for the standard CL, not the type S. I got mine in December for $420/month with tax. $1500 down 39 month/15K miles a year. I'm sure you could get it at $350-$370, plus tax. since you want the 36/12K mile one.

id like to lease it because inevitably something cooler and better will come along in 3-4 years and i dont want to be stuck owing 15,000 on a car i can only ge 12,000 on trade in for. and when you lease a car its not considered a loan so you can get a lower mortgage rate and a higher $$$ amount when you go to buy a house, which i plan to do in the next few years...also, like the other guy said, the CL-S isnt a car id want to own without a warranty....damn trannies failing all the time.

I put the sharp pencil to the lease (fleece would be a better word in most cases) for my 2001 CL-S.

Almost went for it, the factor that made lease look interesting for the CL is the low low resale value of 3 or 4 year old 2 door cars - and concern that there will still be a glut of used cars on the market years out. It's really a buyers market on good used cars here in the S.E. and naturally the dealers don't want them on trade.

Finally decided to buy outright and take my chances. Even using worst case numbers including the "gap" insurance for the lease, the "cost per year" at the end of 4 years was close. Buying it outright gives you lots more freedom to pick tires, do mods, etc.

Hey, we are all risk takers if we like the CL ! (transmission !)

Not true, especially for people who want new cars every 3 years......anyway, even if you buy the CL (you don't get anything in the end) .

so the value of the car after the lease is pretty low...hmmm, its a tough call...by the way, how much is a good price for a 2002 CL-S with everything (including spoiler) except the NAV?? the dealer said 30,800....i think thats a tad high, any input? how far can we talk these guys down???

Invoice is $28,482.51 incl dest., so $29,500.00 is a fair price for the CL-S considering the incentive on it. You should be able to get a good deal on it because the 03's are coming out.
