Lease Insurance rates
Just wondering if I'm paying too much in insurance. Can anyone who leased a CL-S ring in with the rates you got. I'm paying $2,980 a year. Either 2001 or 2002. Or just rates in general. I'm in South FL. Seems high to me. The insurance people said they classify it a high performance car.

I'm 24, single, leasing, with 2 accidents on record as my fault and I'm only paying $170/month. That comes to $ 1020/6 months or about $2040/year. I'm also living in whats considered a "high crime" area up here.....thats a joke but whatever.
Oh yeah, thats with State Farm too. I'd check around, there are TONS of insurance companies out there, Geico, State Farm, American Family, etc.

45 y/o, 2 accidents not my fault, suburbs of WA with car parked in garage...
$850 per 6 month.
Go to Progressive Insurance and you can get a quote on-line. I got $670 per 6 month but I have changed before only to have them increase my insurance after a year. So am still thinking if it is worth it to do.

I'm older than you guys but I pay $1300 a year with an accident (unproven hit & run) a year ago. Quite frankly for under 25 I think that the rate is fair judging by your age and the higher lease coverages.

18, Insuraed in one of the most expensive places to live, nothing on my record. I think it is something like $400 a month my dad said. right about $4,500 a year or so. NOW that's a rip off, the alero is $3,200 a year and the Jeep is $2,450 for me. Fucking Insurance Companies.

I pay about $670.00 (for full coverage) every 6 months for BOTH my 98 Accord coupe and 2001 CLS ! Clean record with Allstate ! They also cover my home owners insurance and I get a break with that arrangement as well.

They said when I turn 25, the rates go down to like $900/year.

Having Home/Renter's Insurance alone with your car insurance helps lower it also.
Of course, living in a low crime suburbia neighborhood doesn't hurt either.

I don't think so! I'm 26 & still pay high insrucance for anything with full coverage. Just the mimium is really cheap. I pay $380/year for my 94 explorer. I think it depends on how long you had your liencse, & how long you had it in the same state. I only had mine since 21. 2 of those years in NYC, & the rest in FL. Geico will not insure me. Progressive, checks credit, I had a bad experience with Statefarm, so the only other options are local companies. I went through the same thing with my 300M when I bought that. After a year, the next policy was cheaper.

Hmmm... Is it a standard thing for an insurance rate to be higher if one is leasing a car? I currently have Progressive with high limits of liability (100/300/100), and I was quoted $806.00 a year. There was nothing to select on the website for a purchase vs. lease rate. Oh.. I'm 24, married and have a 2001 Olds. Alero as well... Probably why I was quoted such a decent rate.
I have some questions on a lease that I was quoted on, but I'll post them in another topic.
Cheers!
