Lease Help!!

Well, my gf thinks her TL is too expensive to upkeep. She's currently paying 558/month (canadian dollars) to lease the TL. She's only made one payment so far.

Now my question to you lease guru's is that if she wanted to say change the lease over to a new cheaper Acura like the TSX or RSX or even the 1.7 EL, how does that work? What kind of penalties is she looking at paying??

Thanks guys.. this is really important.

Leasing a car:

You pay: bank fee, dealer fee, maybe down payment, title fees and tax.

Now, for example the car cost 30,000.

She paid first payment and down, so suppose she owes 29,900 (yeah all the fees and interest just made the payment worhless).

Out of the dealer, the car is 20% depreciated (estimate). So from 30,000 it comes to be 24,000.

If she wants to trade it in, she will end up with $5,900 upside down!

My recomendation is to keep the car and try to make the payments.

She should've made numbers before leasing.

Not to mention the TL is on the way out...

Dealers want to get rid of the old stock & there's plenty of incentives & rebates on these cars right now. They have to offer her even less than "normal" depreciation because they're selling at already less than sticker now. $24K is probably a gift.

She was confirmed a job which would pay more before she got the car, but was jewed over for a different job paying less. That is why.

And that swapalease.com is for US residents only not for Canadian people. Anyways, thanx for the responses.
