Launching 01 CLS

Lock up the tourque converter while in D1 by holding the brake and pressing the accelerator until the tach reaches ~2,000 rpm--let off the brake and WOT simultaneously. Depending on the conditions, type of pavement, tires, mods, etc you can't always floor it or you will just spin the tires through the rev limiter.

BTW

With the 19s you shouldn't spin on the launch. The 19s will slow you down ~3/10 on the quarter since your gear ratio will change with taller tires.

I honestly think I'm faster w/ my 19's. I think they weight a little less than my old stock wheels w/ SO3's. I could be wrong. I KNOW I can corner better. I don't believe the overall diameter of the tire changes much when going from 17 --> 19.

If they weigh the same or even slightly lighter(not oo likely) you will still be a little slower ans you are moving the weight further out on the radius. If they are close in weight though, it should be negligible.

I would think with headers and intake he would still be spinning hard on launch unless he modulated the throttle, at least I would hope so.

it doesnt have to change ...it all depends on what tire size you choose...there is a 19 that'll be within .3 of the o.e. roll diameter
