LACR this Friday 10/10

I posted this in Sanctioned Racing, but I don't know if anyone looks at anything over there. LOL

But I am going to be grudge racing my buddy in his doped up LS1. It won't be pretty for me, but it will still be fun none the less, I know I can outdrive him, but will it be enough? Probably not. Last time he didn't squeeze on me and he slept at the light. He only won by .064.

Anyway, I would like to invite anyone here from Socal for some nice high elevation racing. The temps are dropping, and hopefully so will our ETs.

For track info go to www.lacr.net

Oh, and I am again calling out gregshin and his weak 240SX.

We will have a video camera present to record all the activities, Hopefully I can get the analog converted to digital some time next week. I'll post a link when available.

Again, I would love for some of you to come out and play in the safety of an NHRA track.

Later

Traction is...ummm.....challenging at LACR, no matter what you use. I run on street tires and my PB for 60ft is 2.15. I am usually in the low 2.2 range. Its no worse than the other SoCal tracks from what I've heard. The elevation is a bigger killer, the track is 2700ft. That cost you about .5 sec.

Looks like gregshin is gonna flake on me, so unless he shows up, I will claim victory by default. j/k Greg, I know how it goes.

Is anyone else up for some racing? I have 3 runs lined up with my LS1 buddy, but other than that I have nobody to race. I guess I'll just have to try to line up with those pesky Mustangs.

I'd line up with ya Dave but there is that little problem you have. You're on the wrong coast.
Good luck, you're gonna need it. Be safe and make us L67 owners proud.

Thanks wider, my buddys that hung out with bobby and punk 'em at Cali Speedway are convinced I can take him, even when he is on the juice. I guess he didn't impress them with his mad driving skills. I'll have fun whether I win or lose. I figure if bobby sweeps me, I will just have to line up with some Mustangs to get my agressions out.

Oh, and you are the one on the wrong coast. And I want no piece of your low 13sec car. I know you can drive, so I have NO chance. At least I know my hook ups helped ya get there.

Well, I didn't see any CLS there but I had a lot of fun getting smoked by my LS1 buddy.

I had a new PB at this track(2700ft)

.635 RT
2.280 60'(horrible for me, I should be in the 2.10s)
9.478 @ 74.73 1/8th
14.713 @ 93.127

I was running straight 100 race gas, and it hurt me, I ran out of the race gas, and put in good ole 91 and ran faster. I suspect I had 0KR and max timing already. Oh well, next time I'll scan it and make sure, maybe I should just pulley down again.

This time converts to around 14.25 @ 96 shich is what I ran down at Sacramento. Oh well, I'm going to add some traction mods for next time, and might try to run slicks.

I'll have a video or two of me running the LS1. He ran a 14.1 to my 14.7. I tree'd him and had a better 60', the video looks good for me until the 1/8th mile mark. The LS1 did not squeeze his 100 shot on me.

My buddy in the intercooled GTP made it and ran my LS1 buddy. My LS1 buddy squeezed his 100shot and ran a 13.11@111 to my buddies 13.25@104. The GTP tree'd him though and got the win light. I have this race on video too.

Anyway, maybe next time guys.

Actually, he runs mid 12s at sea level. We ran at LACR which is 2700ft elevation.

Here's a link to his webiste Mofo's ride Its got his mods and a video of his mid 12 sec pass from Sacramento.

Better luck next time Dave. It's cool that Martin showed up and represented for the L67s. So did the mod bug bite you after these runs?

Ya, Martin told me he couldn't make it, then he showed up!!! Very cool, its more than an hour drive for him.

And yes, the mod bug bit me again, I swore I was done. But only being .6 sec behind the LS1 when I had a crappy launch made me hungry for more power. I'm at least going to put in spring blockers in the back, and shackle the front end down to help prevent the weight transfer. I'm also still thinking about the IC, if MAP ever gets the thing to market.

The video on that page is from Aug2, not what we ran the other night. I'm still trying to get some hardware/software to convert the analog to digi video. The crap I bought isn't what I thought it was. I'm still trying to get the vids up today.

OK, one of the videos is below, please be nice and right click and save as. (3.3megs)

Well, I'm sure you knew the outcome, its hard to tell the times from the vid but here are the details.

--------LS1---------Me
RT------.712--------.635
60'-----2.400------2.280
330----6.265------6.172
1/8----9.327------9.478
mph---81.606----74.730 MOV @ 1/8th .074
1000'--11.863----12.255
1/4----14.107----14.713
mph---104.075---93.127
MOV = .529( not too bad really, about 5-6 car lenths)

As you can see, I was right there at the 1/8th, but in typical LS1 fashion, the second 1/8 he totally killed me. Look at the difference in MPH, even at the 1/8th!!!! Need more mods. Traction just wasn't there, they do little to no track prep on Grudge nights, I need to go to a test and tune to get better traction.

The track is at 2700ft elevation, I was running the 3.25 pulley(traction issues ) and straight 100 octane race gas(slowed me down a little). The LS1 is a friend of mine and has the LS6 intake(stock on 2002s), whisper lid, MAF Translator, exhaust cutout, pro5.0 shifter, upgraded clutch(don't remember what kind), Nitto DRs, and a 100shot of N20(didn't spray me though). I was running my mods in the sig on my killer Remington HR tires.

Be nice and right click and save as. http://members.dslextreme.com/users/g35killa/d2.mpg

Oh, and at the end my camera buddy Punk em fell down on the grandstands(at least it looks like it), enjoy!!!

The could of should of game...if I had this run against this 96 Cobra, I would have one. LOL but I was experimenting with tire pressure and had a 2.460ft. and ran a 14.9 to his 14.7. DOH!!!
