Lack of Competition Really Sucks

Hey folks,

I was looking at all your posts and got depressed that I could've gotten a Navi CL-S for the same price as my plain CL-S.

Unfortunately, I live in New Mexico (yes, it's part of the U.S. ) and there's only one Acura dealer in the whole state. They can pretty much gouge their prices.

At least their service department is top notch. I took my car in for a warranty item and they loaned me an Integra GSR for 1 hour's work.

Sorry, need to vent a bit.

yup, I got jipped too .. not only did I have to drive 100 miles to the dealership. I paid 32K for a CL-P w/ spoiler, and wheel locks, but no navi.

I know people who got the CL-S w/ navi for that much!

I bought my car on 3/15 and so there werent too many prices/examples/reviews/quotes to go by or to bargain with and the dealer was completely clueless. To him, Navi wasnt an option, it was a standard feature in the CL-S.

He told me the difference between a CL-P and CL-S is that the CL-S comes standard with a bigger engine and navi.

I wish I could do something about it now

Think about it, what would use Navi for in Albuquerque anyway? Only two highways, parallel streets, Sandia on the east, etc. Must be the simplest town to get around I've been in

LOL....the thing is, how many of you with the navi actually NEED it? I mean, I understand if you're constantly driving to places you're unfamiliar with, but most of us know where we're actually going and how to get there. I didn't get it for this reason, but sometimes I wish I had gotten the navi, it's just a cool toy to have. But it is a $2,000 toy. I would've liked it because I would've gotten the DVD kit for it, but I guess I'm stuck without it for now. I'll just use those $2,000 towards springs and wheels.

You really appreciate the Navi when your driving and you run smack into traffic. (I live in the tri-state area so this happens often). Anyways when you hit traffic all you do is fire up the Navi, ask for an alternate route (toll, non-toll, direct,..etc) and in a minute you have your new route to get you where your going. Priceless.

You want a certain kind of restaurant or any one kind of POI (there's millions of them) and Navi will find you the closest or ANY one you may want.

And you know when the news says "at the tone the time will be 11:30"? Well when the tone goes off your Navi's time is exactly 11:30. Nothing much but I get a kick out of it.

Navi. The best feature on my car. Period.
