I am running a 2.75 Front - 2.25 Rear" drop from stock height and I just barely avoiding rubbing my tires when I have a passenger and if I'm taking turns slightly aggressively I rub with the passenger.
Also - there's almost NO WAY you can have a 3.0" drop all around and actually be able to drive it around on normal roads without putting some holes in your underbody from debris and rubbing in turns and such. So be careful!!

jrock, the race springs dropped the car 2.25 in the front + another 9/16 from the koni's = a little over 2.75" drop.
so in a way your right, it's not quite a 3" suspension drop. but realize i am running 215/45 pirellis, which are nearly a half inch shorter than the stock michelins. throw this in the mix and my car prolly sits over 3" lower than bone stock. look at the rear wheelwell in the first pic, that was with comptech springs. now compare it to the last photo. it's low yo. but you know all about that. how did your camber kits turn out?
thanks guys, i will post more pics soon. i got some new stuff to show you too...

...... i drive my car on shit roads everyday. right thru downtown and into the industrial area. railroad tracks, potholes, cobble stones, all the good stuff. i'm careful and used to driving lowered vehicles. it's not for everyone though, you can hurt the car.
i can't not be low.
4thGSi, i'm thinking i'll need f&r camber kits. i'm noticing inside wear in the front, nothing yet in the back but i just dropped the rear to the lower setting on saturday night.

Mattg, Your drop turned out awesome. I really like that set up. My tires are 215/45, so we are probably sitting at the same height. It is wierd though, I am only noticing wear on my OUTSIDE of the passenger's front?!?!? I am not sure why. But My alignment is all within .5 a degree of the stock settings. Before the rear kit, I could only get the rears within -2 degrees of stock given best possible alignment. But my fronts specs were okay, doesn't explain the wear though.
Congrats on your ride again!

soopa, thats the shop garage, the house garage is way more cluttered than that. can't even fit a car inside.
MtBikR, i'm from oregon and you know how we do it out here.
outside wear does seem kinda strange, i'd have it looked at. do you have your koni's on the lower setting?

The Konis were not made to be used that low. It states clearly on the warranty info. that they are not to be used on their lower perch in conjunction with lowering springs. I think you'll be quite lucky if you don't blow your Konis. No warranty either if that happens.
But, it looks damn nice anyways. I wish I had silver--I'd have a sweet set of gunmetal rims on if I did.
By the way, how did you even get them on their lower perch? Astro tried that awhile back and he said it couldn't be done without banging out some clearance.

JZ, it says nothing in the instructions about not using the lower perches or voiding your warranty if you do so. actually the instructions say nothing, they are a series of illustrations, diagrams and measurements. these were teh same in both boxes, front and rear. so i'm not sure if you're going off of what you have heard or from first hand experience.
the clearance is close and with the car on jackstands it looks like they may not fit but once weight is back on the suspension the clearance is there. i have driven on rough roads and railed corners hard enough to understeer with no signs of suspension interference, strange noises etc.
and about blowing the struts, these are top of the line race bred struts with a lifetime warranty, they are designed to take abuse. although i don't see how the lower setting puts any more stress on the assembly.
i have the utmost confidence in this setup, but at the same time i don't recommend it to others. hell, it may not even work on all the cars. maybe mine is special.

Hey man, I'm just telling you what I know. If you notice in my sig. I have had these for over a year and in the instructions it clearly states that you may use the lower perch to lower your car with the stock springs but you must not combine the lower perch with lowering springs. It also says that this voids your lifetime warranty.
I'm not making it up, it's in there and others have commented on that as well.
But, like I said it looks good and hopefully you won't have any probelms.

no need to get defensive, i never said you were making anything up and i didn't notice your sig. i'm just saying i installed these the other day and i looked at all instuctions etc.
if you have your instructions, scan and post.
after i ordered them, acp sent me an email telling me they had just received the new updated model koni sports and that i would be getting those. maybe that's the difference. koni has made changes in the way the perch mounts to the body of the strut.

That sounds interesting. I remember hearing about this possibility over a year ago but didn't know it actually happened. Who knows, that might be the difference.
