Keyless remote help

Before I get ragged on, I did search the forums and peruse other websites to find the answer; I bought a keyless remote from an 02 tl for my 01 cls. I followed the directions under the FAQ page but the remote will only unlock the doors, not unlock it. Is there something I did wrong? I tried to program it at least 10 times in varying orders but nothing worked. Can anyone help? Sorry for the exhausted topic but I couldn't find any other topics with this problem. Thanks

walt

I don't quite understand your problem... Read your message again, maybe you mistyped something.

Anyways, I have an 01 CL-S and I have programmed an 02 TL-S remote to my car just fine. The TL remote is the gray-colored one with the glossy Acura logo on the back. All the buttons on it work like my original remote.

Just letting you know that it's definitely possible...

Try pulling out the battery for like 5-10 minutes, then put the battery back in the remote, then try and program it.

K sorry my original post was confusing. I programmed my remote but it only unlocks the doors; it will not lock them and the trunk lid button does nothing. Any thoughts?

I would say you got a bad remote. If it unlocks the doors, it's gotta be programmed right. It's all or nothing.

Does the little red LED on the remote light up when you press the lock or trunk buttons?

Megatron is right, it's all or nothing.

Do you know for sure the locks are good....do they work with another remote?

Yeah, the LED lights up when i press the lock and trunk buttons. I don't know if the locks work with other doors because i bought the car used and it did not come with any remotes, so this is my first try at it. I really hope i don't have to buy another remote for it because this damn thing cost me $30 and i'm not going to spend more money on it. I guess i will just make do with it, at least i can unlock it. Thanks for the help guys.

Find sombody with the right car and try theirs. You'll have to program it but that will tell you if the problem is in the remote or the car.
